So what’s the magic answer today?  Do you put your body into a state of ketosis? Rejoin a weight loss group or try one of those new AP’s? What about chia seeds and swallowing them in mass amounts?  Will that work?  

Traditional weight loss programs tend to focus on the Body OR the Mind OR the Emotions. The problem is, if you’re not ready to commit to changing the Body AND the Mind AND the Emotions, you’re still in the cycle.  Are you ready to try something different?

WHWL Sessioned Class

 Safe, alignment-based Yoga with modifications for everyBODY.  This 12 week course includes a weekly Yoga practice, guided meditation, access to a private FB community for additional support, videos, conversation, and course materials.    

*This Class meets on Mondays 5:30-6:45p & requires pre-registraion.

Sometimes the safest space is one-on-one support. Learn & integrate all of the tools with a special plan created for YOU. The sessions will progress at your unique rate.

More about my Weight Loss Journey

HOW I LOST 150+ Pounds:

I've struggled with weight the majority of my life. As a grade schooler, I developed years before my peers. I didn't know how to handle that, and neither did my classmates. Over time, unwanted attention led to shame and the shame led to eating my feelings. I wanted to be invisible, seeing as I already felt that way on the inside. And so the ongoing battle of obesity became my everyday life.

By the time I was in my early 20's, I was obese and in relationships that were incredibly unhealthy for me. I unconsciously sought out people in every aspect of my life that allowed me to give of myself until I was depleted and riddled with anxiety. And I ended up sick all the time - until I was so sick that my body just started to shut down.

Desperate to get anxiety, depression, and my health under control, I knew I had to lose the weight once and for all. Too intimidated to even enter a gym, much less a class, I bought a "Beginners Yoga DVD," popped it in and gave it a go.

My weight made the postures feel awkward and uncomfortable, and I had no idea if I was doing it right, but along the way, something truly magical happened. Through the postures and the breathing, I began to experience what I now know to be SURRENDER...and the healing began!


Surrender does not come without sacrifice. I had to draw the line in the sand between the old way of doing things and the new. The old me wanted instant results. The new me needed the weight loss to be permanent so that I could live a healthy, vibrant, WHOLE HEARTED life. I threw out my scale, armed myself with Yoga, a water bottle & hand-written affirmations and committed myself to the greatest journey of my life. The quote on my refrigerator no longer read "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels."

The quote on my refrigerator no longer read "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." Instead it said, "You are beautiful. You are a good person. You are a good mother. You're making progress. And today is a good day." It took 3 years and the result is a woman who is less than half the size of her original self. Moreover, I found my calling in life...YOGA. I knew I needed to share this gift with others and completed the Integrative Yoga Therapy 200hr training at Inner Light Yoga Studios.

Through Yoga, I finally had the internal strength to love myself enough to take care of myself. I found my inner voice, self-worth and joy.

Yoga is the union of Body + Mind + Emotion. Yoga taught me to be fully present & safe. Practicing the postures provided a safe space for me to be present in my body. Learning to breathe gave me the ability to be with my emotions, but not controlled by them. The combination of Body + Breath strengthened my mind and gave me the determination and power to stay the course regardless of life's challenges.
